This aerial shot of Angkor Wat, the world's largest single religious monument was shot from a hot air balloon.
Angkor Wat was built for the king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city.
It is a massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five lotus-like towers rising 65 meters from ground level is surrounded by a moat and an exterior wall. All the walls of the temple are covered inside and out with bas-reliefs and carvings.
The ruins of Angkor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with temples numbering over 1000, are hidden amongst forests and farmland to the north of the Tonle Sap Lake outside the modern city of Siem Reap, Cambodia.
It is one of the most awe-inspiring locations I have ever been. From the sunrise to the sunset, there isn't a time of day that is not simply a spectacular time to explore this breathtaking location.
